Array Studio version 6.3 released

The most recent release of Array Studio (V6.3) focuses on usability enhancements, but also includes a major internal restructuring. While the first is of immediate benefit to both new and existing customers, the latter is a long-term investment and a move towards an open architechture, positioning Array Studio as a generic modeling tool for complex products.

"We intend to make Array Studio the Microsoft WordTM of Configuration Software", says VP of Sales at Array Technology A/S, Ulrik Haumann. "Studio is the ice-breaker", he states, "It provides our customers with the confidence that they too can manage state-of-the-art product configuration on a day to day basis; It allow product modeling to be done by Product Experts rather than Software Engineers".

Array Studio is based on the Open Source application framework "Eclipse", originally developed by IBM. The latest release of Studio upgrades to version 3.1 of Eclipse, adding further usability enhancements.

  • New refactoring allow automatic creation of variables and elements from constraints

  • Selection priority support
  • Improved rollback - Now allow alternative selection paths
  • Configurable layout

Search

  • Find references to variables
  • Examine property usage

General Enhancements

  • Based on Eclipse 3.1
  • Improved text editor for symbolic relations
  • Relation view shows variable references in tree
  • New Eclipse Perspective for Array Configuration
  • Custom properties filtered on variable types and prefix
